This recipe is usually good for two smoothies, one for you and a loved one. With the lemon you can also save the other smoothie for the next day in the refrigerator. One can of coconut water means the tall cans, I like the C20 coconut water you can get at Cream of the crop or Jimbos. Those are the most natural and not made from concentrate. You can also sub the coconut water for regular water. I just like the coconut water taste.

A couple notes to this recipe: If the Kale leaves are big, use two. To make it easier, you can also prepare each smoothie for the week in separate ziplock bags and freeze them, so all you have to do is unload the continents of each bag into the blender/vitamix, add the coconut water and start mixing it up!

Optional things I add to my morning smoothie are: 1 tbs spirulina powder, a handful of goji berries, 1 tbs chia seeds and 3 spoonfuls of flax seeds. Just gives it that extra boost of love!

To supply you for the week your shopping list will include:

2 heads of fresh kale (organic is always best) 1 box of alfalfa sprouts 2 cucumbers 7 cans of coconutwater 5 lemons 7 bananas (if they get too ripe you can always freeze them) photo1
